Each body part has its own health and crippling effect on the overall performance of the NPC targeted when damaged. This, of course, comes with the cost of a more difficult shot (due to the actual size of the target, cover etc). An easy to understand color grading will always inform you where your best chances to hit are, considering the weapon equipped, the range and the environment.
Sniper Aim
While the default shot is aimed at the center of the body, real cover brings the need for a more precise targeting in certain situations, when the enemy is only partially exposed.
